NC Network's Vision

History of Establishment

On February 1997, nine companies from different manufacturing industries with their young managers aged around 30-40 years old, built an intranet, with the support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Labor and Economic Affairs. The company LAN, which was centered on CAD/CAM, was connected to the internet where mutual transactions started. This has enabled us to send and receive blueprinted data over the internet, instead of the conventional fax and mail.

Members at the Time of Establishment

Small and medium-sized manufacturers who are part of the Tokyo Metal Stamping Association, the Japan Die and Mold Industry Association, and the Japan Spring Manufacturers Association, and other related manufacturing industry associations joined the intranet centered network. The network built by the NC Network group started the provider business as Japan's first factory network service.

NC Network has been established with a capital of 10 million yen in Kanamachi, Katsushika Ward, Tokyo, and since then, has been a web membership business (currently known as EMIDAS).

Aiming for a network of one million companies around the world to support 'MONOZUKURI'

The manufacturing industry can spread around the world, across languages and different borders, because manufactured goods provide merchandised products. The internet is also another access around the world, also breaking language barriers and different borders. So, what happens when these two accesses combine?

Regardless of the company size, one cannot ignore the global market when getting involved within the manufacturing industry. This is why MONOZUKURI limits not within the Japanese manufacturing industry, but the world, such countries include China, India, North America, Europe, Russia, and etc. The world is your customer and the world is your market when companies support MONOZUKURI.

Finding a manufacturing company with excellent technology has been difficult in the past. However, making use of the network, various customers will be able to find out and inquire on manufacturing through an excellent internet based technology. Therefore, clients need to spread awareness that they are working globally.

Regardless of nationality, race, religion, age, and gender, NC Network aims to support the world's manufacturing through the creation of an infrastructure of one million companies around the world that is involved in 'MONOZUKURI'

Bringing a network of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies into one virtual factory

In the past, subcontractors in a pyramid society—with manufacturers at the top—were working only looking at the top of the pyramid. Now, however, many small and medium-sized manufacturing companies are aware that new landscapes are spreading outside the pyramid. And because of this, these small and medium-sized manufacturing companies are boldly trying to deepen exchanges with the outside society. Manufacturers can also use this as a new source of innovation outlet to create products with a completely new concept by trading with small and medium-sized manufacturing companies belonging to different industries that have not yet traded in the past.

With the internet as a sole tool for receiving and transmitting information, NC Network believes that it is possible to create a network of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies seeking such exchanges. Each company specialized in the products or technologies with which it excels in, should be able to search for parts that are missing and obtain it from the said network. When all that is possible, this small and medium manufacturing network will successfully launch as one virtual factory.

NC Network is aiming to reach that vision of the future.
